Sugar Showcase: Peeps Dioramas and Artwork
When it's Easter season, it's Peeps season. Around the country, newspapers, city cultural councils, and even university art departments invite crafty citizens to create dioramas or sculptures using the squishy, sweet chicks and bunnies as their medium. For its part, Just Born, Inc., the company that makes the treats, is donating prizes to the anticipated thirty or so officially recognized Peeps Diorama and Art Contests that will be held this spring around the country. To celebrate the opening of the company's new online store, first prize in the crafty confection competitions will be a $100 gift certificate along with a gift box of Peeps and other assorted Just Born candies. The new site also includes a gallery where masters of the marshmallow oeuvre can upload pictures and videos of their work.
